Director / Editor / Sound Designer
A digital short film comprised of found photographs and sounds centered around the relationship of the black body and water. The film plays with temporal collapse as a mode of meditation on what has happened and what is still to come. We have been here, engaged with these spaces, and seen this before, yet there is an alien form to the blending of sounds and images. In the film, water acts as a form of transportation, segregation, and privilege. This water, both literally and symbolically, is tracked from the Atlantic by way of the slave ship to the floods in Hurricane Katrina; bringing destruction and growth, separation and community, death and life.
